One family, two centuries
A widow, two sons, a grandson if one son predeceases. On the left the Code of 1804 (the widow takes nothing, art. 767; representation, art. 739). On the right today’s Code (the spouse’s quarter, art. 757; stirpes, art. 753). These are two texts, not two dates of the same law. An opening in 2006 is former law, which the package does not execute.
